Serrana: A Different Kind of Cayman Living

Having worked in Cayman real estate for many years, I’ve seen our property market evolve enormously. We’ve become accustomed to impressive new developments, particularly at the luxury end of the market. But every so often, a project comes along that feels genuinely different. For me, Serrana is one of those.

Sitting directly on the Caribbean Sea at North West Point, Serrana has been conceived as a boutique development of just 18 residences. That number is important. Rather than creating a large resort-style environment, the emphasis is on privacy and a more considered sense of home.

Space to live

One of the first things that strikes me about Serrana is the sense of space.

The residences feature generous floor plans, high ceilings and extensive floor-to-ceiling glass, with the architecture designed to make the most of the setting. Light, views and indoor-outdoor living are integral to each home rather than simply added benefits of being close to the water.

The North West Point location is another part of the appeal. It offers a welcome degree of separation from the activity of Seven Mile Beach, while restaurants, shops and everyday conveniences remain within easy reach. Depending on the position of the residence, owners can enjoy expansive views across the Caribbean and towards the Seven Mile Beach coastline.

Amenities that you’ll actually use

Luxury developments can sometimes come with very long lists of amenities. Personally, I’m more interested in whether they genuinely improve everyday life. At Serrana, I think they do.

There’s an oceanfront zero-entry swimming pool and landscaped deck, a glass-fronted fitness centre overlooking the water and a natural saltwater cove offering direct access for swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding and diving.

The rooftop adds another dimension, with a residents’ lounge, covered pavilions, catering facilities and a plunge pool/spa. It’s easy to imagine using the space for sunset drinks with friends, dinner with family or simply finding a quiet spot to enjoy the view.

Practical considerations haven’t been overlooked either, with covered owners’ parking, private storage lockers, outdoor showers and rinse areas, and semi-private elevators.

What makes Serrana different?

For me, it’s the way several elements come together:

Boutique by design. With only 18 residences, Serrana offers an intimacy that can be difficult to achieve in larger developments.

A genuine connection to the water. The natural cove makes the Caribbean part of everyday life, with direct access from the property.

Exceptional outlooks. Its North West Point position captures wide sea views and Cayman’s remarkable light, from sunrise through to sunset.

Generous proportions. High ceilings, expansive glazing and spacious floor plans create an open, airy feeling throughout the residences.

An elevated outdoor space. The rooftop lounge, entertaining areas and plunge pool/spa provide a second setting for relaxing and socialising beyond the oceanfront amenities below.

Privacy without isolation. The setting feels peaceful and removed, yet West Bay and the Seven Mile Beach corridor remain conveniently close.

Details designed for daily life. Secure covered parking, private storage, elevators and dedicated rinse areas may not be the headline features, but they’re exactly the sort of details you appreciate when you live somewhere.

More than a holiday home

Perhaps that’s what I like most about Serrana. It has everything you might want from a Cayman escape — sea, sunshine, beautiful views and inviting places to entertain — but it hasn’t been conceived solely as somewhere to spend a holiday. It feels like a place designed for everyday living.

In a market where buyers have an increasingly impressive choice of luxury properties, that distinction matters.
